Arthur is our Home Manager at Belmont House – here’s a glimpse into his role at the home in his own words:
“I ensure the effective delivery of holistic person-centred care in a safe environment. I lead by example, creating a culture of continuous learning and development, ensuring all aspects of care can be maintained to the highest standards.
I have been working in the care industry all my working life, starting as a Psychiatric Nurse for 5 years and A&E Nurse for almost 3 years. I worked as a General Nurse for 2 years, working my way up to Senior Nurse. I began work in care homes as head of care before becoming a Deputy Manager followed by Home Manager.
My aim is to lead by example, ensuring the home follows all policies and procedures and provides the best care possible to help residents live happy, comfortable and fulfilling lives.”

Getting Social
Creepy Crawlies and Smiles All Around!
We had a very special visit at Belmont House last week from Jack at Zoolab, who brought along some truly amazing animal friends! Our residents were thrilled to meet an African land snail, a tarantula, a frog, some super soft gerbils—and the star of the show, a beautiful corn snake named Pudding!
P.S. couldn’t resist touching Pudding and remarked, “What lovely patterns on the snake!” while G.C. gave a surprised chuckle after a gentle touch, saying, “Oh, it’s quite a cold feeling and leathery.”
J.S. was especially taken with the little gerbil, describing it as “so soft” and even encouraged another resident to give it a try too—such lovely moments of connection and curiosity!
Paul, one of our wonderful visitors, shared: “My Mum loved the visit and so did I. The guy was so kind to everyone, and it was a great event for all.”
Huge thanks to Jack and Zoolab for bringing joy, education, and just a little bit of wildness to our day. We can't wait for the next visit!

Belmont House Celebrates Mother’s Day with Love
On March 30, Belmont House Nursing Home was filled with love and laughter as we celebrated Mother’s Day. Families gathered to spend precious time with their loved ones, sharing hugs, stories, and smiles.
The afternoon was made special with a lovely tea party, delicious treats, and soft music that brought back beautiful memories. There were heartfelt moments—some joyful, some emotional—as mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers were honoured for the love they have given throughout their lives.
The day was a reminder that a mother’s love is forever, and the bonds between family never fade.

Sutton United Players Visit Belmont House for Coffee Club!
On March 27, 2025, at 2 PM, Belmont House had the pleasure of welcoming Harry, Jack, and their team from Sutton United Football Club for our monthly Coffee Club. It was a fantastic afternoon filled with great conversations, laughter, and memorable moments.
One of our residents, VL, a devoted Sutton United supporter, was especially thrilled to meet the players, ask questions, and take photos. The team took the time to engage with everyone, making the visit truly special.
To make the occasion even more exciting, our residents and staff were gifted Sutton United scarves—a wonderful souvenir and something to wear proudly when we attend an upcoming Sutton United match, which we’ll be scheduling soon!
A heartfelt thank you to Harry, Jack, and the Sutton United team for their generosity and kindness. It was a visit to remember, and we look forward to supporting them at their next game!

Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Style at Belmont House!
Belmont House was filled with Irish spirit as we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in the most joyful way! Our residents, staff, and relatives came together for a lively afternoon featuring a special performance by No Cholmain Academy of Irish Dance. The talented dancers wowed everyone with their energy and skill, and the smiles on our residents’ faces said it all!
JG was especially delighted to meet the Irish dancers afterward, sharing stories of her own Irish heritage. Meanwhile, LS clapped along enthusiastically, exclaiming, “Wow, they are amazing!” The room was filled with music, laughter, and plenty of toe-tapping!
No Irish celebration would be complete without a feast, and our wonderful chef prepared a delicious traditional Irish beef stew with cabbage and boiled potatoes, served alongside a perfectly poured Guinness draught. It was a meal to remember!
The photos truly capture the joy of the day, as residents, relatives, and staff embraced the Irish spirit together. Thank you to everyone who made this celebration so special—especially our incredible performers, dedicated team, and wonderful residents who always make these moments unforgettable!

On 7 March 2025, Belmont House Nursing Home proudly honours the remarkable women within our community this International Women’s Day, recognising their strength, resilience, and lasting contributions.
This year’s theme, “Inspire Inclusion,” resonates deeply with our residents and staff—women who have shaped history, cared for generations, and led with courage. To celebrate, we are showcasing a photo exhibition featuring inspiring residents and dedicated staff.
