Celebrating 65 Years of Love: Frank and Ann’s Remarkable Journey

At Acacia Lodge Care Home, we are honoured to celebrate the incredible milestone of Frank and Ann’s 65th wedding anniversary—a testament to love, resilience, and devotion.

Frank met Ann in 1953 and, despite her initial hesitations, his persistence paid off. They married in 1959 and began their life together in Brize Norton, living in a caravan near the air base with their two young children. From there, they moved to a council house in Henley and worked hard to build a bright future.

Frank’s career flourished as he eventually founded Jex Construction, now managed by their sons, Lee and Steve. He also realised a dream of building a five-bedroom house with a swimming pool, reflecting his hard work and ambition. Together, Frank and Ann raised four children—Lee, Steve, Terri, and Nicky—and now have a legacy of 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A man of many talents, Frank taught himself to play the saxophone, delighting his family with performances, and crafted intricate model ships. Ann remains devoted, visiting him daily at Acacia Lodge, sharing cherished moments over lunch.

To mark this milestone, our Lifestyle Lead, Wendy, accompanied Frank to a surprise anniversary celebration at Shiplake College. Greeted with hugs and tears from his family, Frank was overjoyed to see everyone gathered to honour his and Ann’s remarkable journey.

Their story is a beautiful reminder of love’s enduring strength. Join us in celebrating this extraordinary couple and their inspiring bond!
