Solent Grange Nursing Home visit Monkey Haven

This Tuesday, residents of Solent Grange Nursing Home had the pleasure of visiting Monkey Haven, a renowned wildlife sanctuary, for a day filled with fun, exploration, and cherished moments. The outing was organised in two groups, giving residents from both our Poppy Floor (dementia care) and Sunflower Floor (residential care) the chance to enjoy this delightful experience.

The first group, from our Poppy Floor, kicked off the adventure with drinks and snacks as they explored the sanctuary. Residents enjoyed watching the playful antics of the monkeys and other fascinating animals. Before heading back, they couldn’t resist browsing the gift shop, picking up souvenirs to remember their special day.

Later, it was the turn of residents from the Sunflower Floor. Armed with packed lunches lovingly prepared by our talented kitchen team—featuring sandwiches, fresh fruit, crisps, and chocolate—they set off to explore the wonders of Monkey Haven. Some residents treated themselves to delicious goodies from the café and picked up keepsakes from the gift shop, making the day even more memorable.

The trip to Monkey Haven offered a unique opportunity for residents to connect with nature, enjoy quality time with one another, and take a break from the everyday. It was a joy to see their faces light up as they watched the animals, shared stories, and soaked in the vibrant atmosphere of the sanctuary.

At Solent Grange, we believe in creating experiences that enrich the lives of our residents, and this outing was no exception. A huge thank you to Monkey Haven for their warm welcome and to our staff for making this day such a success!

Here’s to many more adventures that bring smiles and create lasting memories!
