Southlands Place residents enjoy Australian-themed day

Recently at Southlands Place Care Home in Bexhill-on-Sea, the residents enjoyed an Australian-themed day as part of their monthly ‘trip around the world’.

The day was filled with plenty of fun activities, including playing a didgeridoo, tasting classic Aussie treats like Vegemite on toast and delicious peach melba, and meeting Cricket, Wellbeing Coordinator Nikki’s pet bearded dragon.

They also tested their knowledge with Australian trivia and landmark quizzes and learned fun facts about Aboriginal culture and a few Aussie words and phrases.

Nikki said, “We definitely had a ripper of an arvo!”

Resident Peter said, “I had a great time, it reminded me of the time I spent in Australia.”
