At Riverside Place we understand the importance of supporting residents to maintain links with their local communities. That’s why we play an active part in our community. We hold events throughout the year, and work closely with groups, schools and charities to ensure residents continue to enjoy a rewarding social life, and the chance to make new friends and try new things.

VE-Day Celebrations!
Date: 8th May 2025
Time: 2:30pm – 4pm
Riverside Place Care Home is delighted to announce that we will be commemorating Victory in Europe (VE) Day with a joyful and nostalgic street party held in our beautiful Orangery. This special event will be a chance to honour the courage, resilience, and spirit of the generation who lived through the Second World War and to celebrate peace and community together.
Residents, their families, and friends are warmly invited to join us for an afternoon filled with traditional music, delicious refreshments, and plenty of festive cheer. It promises to be a truly heartwarming occasion, bringing people together to share stories, memories, and appreciation for our remarkable residents.
We are also honoured to welcome the Mayor of Ware, who will be visiting Riverside Place in the coming days to personally say thank you the residents who contributed to the war effort and to the post-war rebuilding of our communities. Their service and sacrifices will be recognised as we come together to celebrate their incredible legacy.
Join us as we step back in time for an afternoon of remembrance, gratitude, and celebration for a lovely day of music, bunting, laughter, and community spirit.
