With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the residents at Acacia Care Centre in South Norwood shared their words of wisdom and cherished love stories.
The team and residents had a delightful afternoon, reminiscing, exchanging love stories, and enjoying a delicious afternoon tea.
Resident Jewel shared a heartfelt story about her and her husband’s journey: “We grew up together in India and fell in love when I was just 15. I married in 1960 at the age of 21, and soon after, I had my first son, Allan, in 1961. Then came my daughter Janette and my youngest son, Nigel. We lived in India and Australia before settling in the UK. We were married for 48 years. Our relationship was wonderful, and Gerald always took great care of me.”
Resident Caroline said, “I remember my husband cooking for me. His cooking was so good.”
Lifestyle Lead Marta said, “It’s been so much fun celebrating the love in our home and hearing these pearls of wisdom. After all, love is forever in bloom, no matter our age!”
