Acacia Lodge welcome visit from local Beaver Group

Acacia Lodge beavers visit

The residents and team at Acacia Lodge Care Home in Henley-on-Thames were delighted to welcome the local Beaver group from 1st Henley to the home, aged between 6 and 8 years old they came along to meet the residents and took the opportunity to introduce themselves and explain what they do, their values and latest news . They also sang some of their traditional songs which they thoroughly enjoyed singing and the residents enjoyed hearing, including “Crest of a Wave” and “Ging gang goolie”.

They were joined at the visit by Rhidian Williams, the scout leader from 1st Henley beavers. It was a wonderful visit and to see the interactions between our residents and the children, it brought back memories for our residents from their time of being involved in the Scouts, Brownies or Girl Guides which led to conversations and the sharing of memories.

Rhidian Williams commented  “The Beavers had a very good time and engaged really well – the whole evening was great fun. I’m so glad that the residents had fun – you could tell some of them were delighted to have their memories of Cubs and Brownies renewed”.

Our residents are looking forward to welcoming them back to our home very soon for another visit.
