Residents of Belmont House Nursing Home in Sutton were excited to have their regular Coffee Morning made extra special with a visit from the Sutton United Football Club.
As Sutton United is the local team, many of the residents are dedicated supporters, and they were thrilled to meet the players. Harry, Jack and the team spent the morning chatting with residents, sharing stories and talking about their experiences in the team.
Sutton United, founded in 1898 through the merger of Sutton Guild Rovers and Sutton Association, has a rich history in English football. In the 2020–2021 season, they clinched the National League championship, earning promotion to the English Football League for the first time in their history. Their home ground, Gander Green Lane, has witnessed many exciting matches, solidifying the team’s strong following, especially within the local community.
To commemorate their visit, the team generously presented residents and team members with official Sutton United scarves. These thoughtful gifts will be worn proudly on upcoming trips to Sutton United matches.
A heartfelt thank you to the Sutton United team for their kindness and generosity. Their visit brought immense joy, and everyone’s so excited to see them play at their next game!
