A Tea-rific Treat for Hydration and Nutrition Week!
For the residents of Cedar View Care Centre, there’s nothing quite like the warm aroma of freshly baked cakes to bring smiles all around. This year, as part of Hydration and Nutrition Week, the kitchen team pulled out all the stops to celebrate Global Afternoon Tea Day in the most delightful way—by treating residents to a splendid selection of homemade cakes and sweet delights.
From classic Victoria sponges to deliciously indulgent chocolate treats, there was something to tantalise every taste bud. Residents gathered together to savour the delicious sweet treats, enjoying not only the wonderful flavours but also the opportunity to socialise and share stories over a cuppa. Laughter filled the rooms as plates were passed around, proving that a little indulgence can go a long way in fostering community spirit.
Beyond the joy of delicious bakes, this special event highlighted the importance of good nutrition and hydration. Afternoon tea, after all, isn’t just about the sweet treats—it’s also an opportunity to encourage residents to stay hydrated while enjoying the benefits of a well-balanced diet. The event served as a wonderful reminder that eating well can be as enjoyable as it is beneficial.
With the success of this year’s Global Afternoon Tea celebration, it’s clear that such occasions are more than just a chance to indulge—they’re a heart-warming way to bring people together, promote well-being, and create cherished memories. A huge well done to the kitchen team for baking up a storm and making the day truly special!
Here’s to many more tea-filled afternoons brimming with joy, laughter, and, of course, cake!
