Chestnut View Care Home Welcome Ems Friendly Farm!

A Day of Delight: Chestnut View Welcomes Ems Friendly Farm

Residents at Chestnut View were treated to a truly special experience this week as they welcomed a delightful visit from Ems Farm. The farmers arrived with an adorable collection of animals, including a piglet, two goats, a pony, and a baby lamb, bringing an air of excitement and nostalgia to the home.

The day began with an insightful introduction to farm life, where the residents learned about modern farming practices and the care that goes into keeping these animals happy and healthy. Many of those attending had a personal connection to farming, having worked in the industry in their younger years, while others simply relished the opportunity to interact with the animals they adore.

As the animals made their way around to meet each resident, the atmosphere was filled with joy and curiosity. Smiles spread across faces as hands reached out to stroke the soft fur of the lamb and the velvety nose of the pony. One particularly pleasing moment occurred when the baby lamb, seemingly at ease, decided to curl up and take a nap in the lap of one of the residents—a memory that will surely be treasured for years to come.

The visit would not have been complete without a few treats! Thanks to the thoughtful efforts of the kitchen team, fresh carrots were on hand for the pony, much to its delight. The residents watched on, laughing as the pony eagerly munched on the snacks, its tail swishing in approval.

The team at Chestnut View worked diligently to prepare for the visit, ensuring both residents and animals had a safe and comfortable environment to enjoy the experience. With careful organisation and the generous efforts of the farmers from Ems Farm, the event ran smoothly, providing a refreshing and meaningful change of pace for everyone involved.

This farmyard visit was more than just an entertaining day—it was a moment of connection, education, and joy. The residents left with fond memories, newfound knowledge, and a sense of warmth that only comes from spending time with animals. Events like these truly highlight the importance of bringing the outside world into Chestnut View, enriching the lives of those who call it home.

A heartfelt thank you to Ems Farm for their time and dedication, and to all those who helped make this experience such a success. We can’t wait to welcome them back again soon!
