Residents at Coxhill Manor Nursing and Residential Home in Chobham enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of creativity during a special Watercolour Session to celebrate the art of Vincent van Gogh. After discussing his iconic “Sunflower” painting, the group decided to paint a thistle instead, in honour of Burns Night and Scotland’s national symbol.
Sheila, George, Pat, Marge, Julia, and a few others joined the session, along with some of our caring staff members. It was a lovely mix of art, memories, and laughter as some of our talented residents shared stories of art clubs they had been part of over the years.
Each resident created beautiful thistle paintings, with George, their self-appointed “judge,” offering his professional critiques. The winner, resident Marge, was delighted with her win, commenting, “It was a very lovely afternoon, can we do it again?”
