Cranmer Court’s wishing tree

Last week, the residents at Cranmer Court Care Home in Warlingham wrote down their wishes during their morning activity session.

Activities Lead Chris asked the residents, “Is there anything that you’ve always wished to do, something that we could try to make happen for you?”

The residents then decorated wooden hearts with pens, stickers, and flowers, writing their wishes on the back along with their names. The wooden hearts were threaded with silk and hung on the home’s wishing tree, which takes pride of place in the reception area.

Chris said, “From time to time, we will pick a wish from the tree and do our very best to make it come true.”

There was a wide selection of wishes:

“To go to the theatre” – Resident Joan

“To visit some pigs” – Resident Pat

“To listen to music” – Resident Linda

“See the sea” – Resident Maureen

“Nothing to wish for, I’m over the moon with everything at Cranmer Court.” – Resident Alan
