Inspired by some fun ideas from our Hospitality Director at Aria Care, James Clear, the team at Deer Park View were keen to embrace Nutrition and Hydration week with an exciting week of activities.
This special week embodied our commitment to putting our residents at the heart of everything we do, creating not just meals but moments of joy, connection, and belonging. During the week, we celebrated the wonderful blend of nutrition, hydration, and community spirit that makes our care homes stand out.
Monica Serrano, our Wellbeing Coordinator at Deer Park View, wanted to share the success of the week, “We really made an occasion of the global tea party and highlighting the importance of good nutrition and hydration. The residents really enjoyed the range of foods and drinks on offer.
We also did daily themed activities over the week, the highlight was making fruit skewers. It was great excuse to chat to our residents, share memories and get together. All with an attractive and delicious result.”
It was a pleasure to hear one of our residents’ give feedback too, “Thank you so much for all the effort you went to; this was one of the best tea parties, and in answer to an offer of a third sandwich, yes please!”
This week was true testament to the dedicated team at Deer Park View; the whole team from wellbeing, care colleagues, and kitchen all worked together with the residents to create a memorable experience for the home.
Celebrating and enjoying food is a great way to lift the spirts. To read more about how we support enjoyable, healthy dining within our communities visit our hospitality page or go straight to our hints and tips.
