Meet the Manager
Arthur is our home manager at Belmont House Care Home – here’s a little bit more about his role at the home in his own words:
“I have a qualified nursing background from the Philippines. I ensure the effective delivery of holistic person-centred care in a safe environment. I lead by example, creating a culture of continuous learning and development and the team are encouraged and valued ensuring all aspects of care can be maintained to the highest standards.
I have been working in the care industry all my working life starting as a psychiatric nurse for 5 years and A&E Nurse for almost 3 years. I worked as a general nurse for 2 years, working my way up to senior nurse. I began work in care homes as head of care before quickly becoming a deputy manager and then being promoted to home manager and then senior home manager.
My experience and passion for the role I perform is to lead by example, ensuring the home follows all policies and procedures to provide a highly skilled team to enhance the residents lives so they have the most fulfilled life they can have.”

Love was in the air as Belmont House celebrated Valentine’s Day in style! Residents, relatives, and staff were dressed in their finest reds and pinks, spreading love and joy throughout the home.
🍽️ A Romantic Lunch Date
Three lovely couples accepted our special Valentine’s lunch invitation, and Chef Nelson worked his magic in the kitchen, preparing a delicious meal just for them. Love may be sweet, but his cooking was even sweeter!
🎂 The Great Belmont Cake-Off!
Things got competitive (but in the most loving way) as three teams of residents and relatives went head-to-head in a cake decorating contest! The results? Absolutely delightful:
🥉 3rd Place: Love’s Sweet Dream by Janet & Anne – Total Score: 16
🥈 2nd Place: Cupid by Sandra & Sharon – Total Score: 15
🥇 1st Place: Strawberry Delight by Anne & Jean – Total Score: 11
(Yes, our judges had an unusual scoring system, but hey—it’s all part of the fun!)
☕ Tea, Treats, and Togetherness
After the competition, everyone enjoyed a cozy afternoon tea with beautifully decorated Valentine’s cupcakes. As Sandra perfectly put it, “I really enjoyed that—it was so much fun to do it with my daughter.” ❤️

Belmont House Nursing Home in Sutton has been honoured with a prestigious Certificate of Recognition from the NHS Southwest London Integrated Care Board (ICB). This incredible achievement places Belmont House among the top 5% of digitally enabled care homes in Southwest London a well-deserved spot in the top 16 out of 331 care providers!
The NHS Southwest London ICB oversees six boroughs Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton, and Wandsworth making this recognition a significant milestone. Kate Scotter, Senior Health and Social Care Integration Officer, called it a remarkable achievement, highlighting Belmont House’s leadership in digital care innovation.
This accolade is part of the Care Home Digital Integration Programme, an ambitious initiative by the NHS designed to enhance the quality, safety, and efficiency of care homes through cutting-edge technology. From remote monitoring to electronic health records, the programme equips care homes with tools to deliver smarter, more effective care and Belmont House has embraced it all with flying colours.
Gina DeOliveira, Health and Social Care Integration Officer in Sutton, praised Belmont House as a shining example for others to follow. Their success sets the stage for shared learning and collaboration, inspiring other care homes in the region to step up their digital game.

This week at Belmont House, our residents had a delightful time celebrating National Pie Day, a day dedicated to honouring one of the most comforting and versatile dishes in the world—pie!
Pie Day is celebrated to highlight the rich history and universal love of pies, which have been enjoyed for centuries in many cultures. Whether sweet or savoury, pies bring people together and remind us of the simple joys of life.
To mark the occasion, our talented Head Chef, Doris, created an incredible menu featuring:

New Year Celebration at Belmont House!
As the clock turned the page to 2025, Belmont House welcomed the New Year with a spectacular celebration, making it an unforgettable day for our residents and staff alike!
Our talented chefs prepared a special 3-course menu that delighted everyone’s taste buds, while poppers filled the room with festive joy as staff joined in to kickstart the celebration before their lunch.
Residents raised their glasses of Spanish rosé, white, and red wine to toast to a year full of happiness and good health. Resident SS captured the spirit of the day, suggesting, “Let’s have happy songs while having our lunch and raising a glass so the New Year coming is a happy one!” Alexa, our musical assistant, amazed SS by playing any song she wanted. Her verdict? “Brilliant!”
Adding to the fun, our mobile raffle brought even more smiles, with lucky winners like Resident JH exclaiming, “I am feeling lucky today for winning the raffle!” Resident JR expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Thank you to all the staff for the effort they are giving for us to have a great New Year celebration.”
Resident JF summed it up perfectly:
“Our Wellbeing Coordinators and the team always set the bar high, and this one is absolutely wonderful—from the decorations to the popping of poppers to the food served.”
