Coppice Lea Care Home in Merstham, on the edge of Redhill, Surrey is a lovely Victorian country house built in 1881 and has 5 acres of beautiful extensive grounds backing into woodland. Coppice Lea has peaceful and quiet surroundings with visits from various wildlife such as Deer, Parakeets and Birds of Prey.
Life at Coppice Lea is a home from home environment. Our team are caring making our residents lives as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We have a variety of daily activities and entertainment, or you can enjoy quiet areas to just read and relax. Resident centred care is our top priority.

Maria is our Home Manager at Coppice Lea Care Home. Here’s a little bit more about the home in her own words:
“I lead my professional Care Team in delivering the highest level of care and support for our residents. My commitment to professional development has equipped me well for my role here, where I work hard to ensure that those in my care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive.
I believe in maintaining strong relationships with residents and their relatives, and understand the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home.
I feel that the Aria Care philosophy matches up well with my own beliefs on care provision and I am committed to ensuring that all our residents continue to receive the high levels of care and protection they deserve.”

National Love Your Pet Day is a special occasion dedicated to celebrating the bond between pets and their owners, as well as the joy that animals bring into our lives. It’s a day to show extra appreciation for our furry, feathered, or scaly companions and to recognize the unconditional love they provide. For those who may not have pets of their own, it’s also an opportunity to share love with animals in other ways, such as volunteering at shelters, fostering, or simply spending time with a friend’s pet.
Coppice Lea residents had the opportunity to meet yesterday,Luna, a 8 months old cockerpoo .
We captured a heartwarming connection between Luna and one of our residents.The resident is a huge animal lover and even though she wasn’t able to be with her own dog, she found joy and connection by showing love to Luna, the visiting dog. This is a beautiful example of how animals can bring happiness and comfort, even in small moments. Pets have a unique way of bridging gaps and creating meaningful interactions, and Luna clearly made a positive impact on your resident’s day.
It’s moments like these that highlight the importance of pets in our lives—they remind us of the simple joys of companionship and the power of love, even when it’s shared with a temporary furry friend. Celebrating National Love Your Pet Day can be as simple as sharing a smile, a cuddle, or a playful moment with an animal, just as our resident did with Luna. 🐾❤️

Beautiful 😍
Yesterday afternoon sun streamed through the windows of Coppice Lea, casting a warm glow over the gathering room as residents eagerly took their seats, their faces alight with anticipation. The air buzzed with excitement, a sense of childlike wonder filling the space as the Carousel Theatre Company prepared to begin their puppet show. From the moment the first puppet appeared, the room was transformed into a world of magic and storytelling.
The intricate puppets, each one a masterpiece of craftsmanship, danced and came to life before our eyes. The residents leaned forward in their chairs, their eyes wide with delight, as the story unfolded. Laughter rippled through the room as the puppets’ playful antics brought smiles to every face. Some residents clapped along with the music, while others whispered to each other, reminiscing about stories from their own childhoods. It was as if the puppets had unlocked a treasure trove of memories and emotions, connecting everyone in the room through shared joy.
The Carousel Theatre Company didn’t just put on a show—they created an experience. The care and dedication they poured into their performance were evident in every movement, every note of music, and every carefully crafted detail. By the end of the show, the room was filled with a palpable sense of warmth and connection. Residents lingered, chatting animatedly about their favorite moments, their faces glowing with joy.

A Day of Pizza-Making Fun at Coppice Lea!!
Today was a delightful day at Coppice Lea,as our residents came together for a heartwarming pizza-making activity. The room was filled with laughter, creativity, and the irresistible aroma of freshly baked pizza, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.
Some of our residents took the task very seriously, carefully spreading tomato sauce, sprinkling cheese, and choosing their favorite toppings with precision and pride. It was wonderful to see their focus and enthusiasm as they crafted their own personal pizzas, each one a unique reflection of their tastes and preferences.
Others preferred to sit back and enjoy the activity from a distance, soaking in the lively ambiance while working on jigsaw puzzles or simply watching their friends and neighbors create their culinary masterpieces. The gentle hum of lovely music played in the background, adding to the relaxed and cheerful vibe of the afternoon.
Whether they were sharing stories, or simply enjoying the company, every resident found their own way to participate and enjoy the moment. It was a beautiful reminder of how simple activities can bring people together, spark joy, and create lasting memories.
As the pizzas baked to golden perfection, the room buzzed with anticipation, and when they were finally ready, everyone gathered to enjoy the delicious results of their efforts. It was a afternoon filled with smiles, connection, and the simple pleasure of good food and great company.
At Coppice Lea we cherish these moments of togetherness, where every resident can engage in their own way and feel a sense of belonging. Today was truly a special day, and we look forward to many more like it! 🍕❤️
