Our care home in Southampton is nestled in the Hampshire countryside, offering residents beautifully landscaped gardens to enjoy. We pride ourselves on having modern facilities and technology in order to offer our residents the best care possible. Oaklands House Care Centre is home to 72 residents, and our purpose is to provide them with positive care that’s tailored to their every need. We have a dedicated team of carers and residential care nurses who are passionate about ensuring the happiness of our residents on a day-to-day basis.
We provide care in every capacity, including respite care, nursing care, dementia care, and residential care. We offer specialised care services for many conditions, ensuring our residents are comfortable and transition easily into life at our care centre. Life at Oaklands House Care Centre is a home from home, where residents are made to feel comfortable and supported to participate in activities that are important and meaningful to them. There is fun and laughter shared between residents, relatives, and the whole team.

We focus on promoting self-esteem and ensuring that residents always have a choice, building independence and ensuring they have the necessary support to enable them to nurture current and future interests. Our activity and social programmes are created to reflect the passions and interests of our residents. With a variety of pursuits readily on offer each week including physical activities, cognitive stimulation, creative pursuits, social events, and on occasion trips and excursions – designed to enrich life and make each day meaningful.
We believe that food is one of life’s greatest pleasures – mealtimes matter to our residents and to us. Oaklands House Care Centre has an in-house catering team dedicated to meeting each and every resident’s dietary requirements. Menus are prepared in consultation with our residents and cooked from scratch every day using only the best quality and seasonal ingredients. There are two options at least, every mealtime and alternatives will always be available to suit requests.

Byron Nadgie is our Home Manager at Oaklands House Care Centre, here’s a little bit more about himself and the home in his own words:
“I am wholeheartedly committed to delivering the highest standard of care at Oaklands, ensuring that every resident’s dignity and wellbeing are central to everything we do. My focus is on providing person-centred care, where each individual’s needs, preferences, and values are recognised and respected. This approach allows us to create a warm, welcoming, and homely environment where residents feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for.
With extensive experience managing Nursing, Dementia, and Residential homes, I have also held senior roles in quality care, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills necessary to foster best practices. I am dedicated to ensuring positive outcomes for all who reside at Oaklands, continuously striving to enhance the quality of care we provide.
I actively promote the highest standards of care by working closely with families, colleagues, and residents to make sure every resident receives the support they deserve. My door is always open, and I look forward to meeting you personally, and working together to create a brighter future for you or your loved one at Oaklands.”

Administrator
During my time at the home, I have developed strong relationships with families regarding their loved ones. I am now the primary contact for them when they reach out to the home. My role is fast-paced, with each day presenting new challenges and experiences in care.

Wellbeing Lead
Since December 2018, my role at Oaklands House has focused on embracing a philosophy of engagement and fun. We take pride in fostering laughter amongst our residents and using a person-centred approach to create meaningful experiences for everyone, regardless of their disabilities.

Sarah Barratt
Head Chef
With over 20 years at Oaklands, I started as a Carer and learned about food preparation and nutrition. Now, as Head Chef, I take pride in leading our team to create nutritious, appealing dishes that cater to all dietary needs, ensuring every resident enjoys their meals.
