Last week, the residents at Galsworthy House Nursing Home in Kingston-upon-Thames enjoyed learning Tai Chi with instructor Charles.
A regular visitor of the home, Charles has been teaching the residents twice a month for the past few years.
Held in the lounge, he leads a warm-up with the residents before beginning the session, guiding them through each movement.
With numerous physical and mental health benefits, Tai Chi combines deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements which helps improve balance and strength.
Wellbeing Coordinator Ruth said, “Resident Angela is Galsworthy House’s exercise queen, seeing her face throughout the session was a highlight for me, she really does give it her all.”
Resident Brenda said, “I’ve never done Tai Chi before, I’m glad I gave it a go.”
