This week, the residents and team at Garth House Care Home in Dorking held a fundraiser in support of the charity Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Founded in 1992, Alzheimer’s Research UK is a charity aiming to revolutionise the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.
Joined by family members, friends and the local community, the residents enjoyed singing along to songs, playing games and eating the delicious cupcakes that they had baked for the fundraiser.
Heather from Compassionate Hands also joined to support the event, offering hand massages to both the residents and guests.
Resident Joe said, “At Garth House, we have residents living with dementia, and Nergiz arranges events to help raise awareness about it. I really enjoyed the hand massage.”
