World Book Day at Garth House

World Book Day at Garth House

Last week at Garth House Care Home in Dorking, the residents and team were joined by author Emma Simpson and children from Dorking Nursery School as they celebrated World Book Day.

Held over two days, Emma read one of her favourite children’s books, Winnie-the-Pooh, to the children. They sang and danced to the children’s favourite songs, made bookmarks, and enjoyed playing games together.

Resident Christopher said, “It was brilliant! I had the most amazing time this afternoon with the children, and it was great to meet the author.”

Health and Wellbeing Coordinator Nergiz said, “The children and our residents had a wonderful time. Emma mentioned that it was a lovely experience for her too, as she’d never been invited to participate in an event at a care home before. She loved reading to the children.”

Garth House Care Home provides residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis. If you are looking for a care home and want to find out more about our home, call us on 01306333183.
