Bedworth Amateur Show Society delivered a live interactive concert to Gildawood Court Care Home residents last month (7th October 2022).
“We wanted to get involved with the community more and help organisations that work with charities. This was our way to give a chance to Bedworth Amateur Show Society by donating for their musical performance.” Hayley Rix, Gildawood Court Care Home Manager
All residents along with the home’s staff got involved in the event and gave some excellent feedback, such as: “This is the best show I’ve seen”, “This made my day”, “That’s my niece and I love to watch her singing” and “It is wonderful! When are they coming again?”
Evidence has shown that music and dancing can have positive effects on people living with dementia such as the recalling of information, minimising the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), tackling anxiety and depression and retaining speech and language.
