Heffle Court’s Platinum Jubilee lunch a hit with residents

Residents at Heffle Court Care Home prepared for their Platinum Jubilee celebrations by making and signing a card for Her Majesty the Queen. The front cover featured a photo of the home planting a tree to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne. The card was then posted to Buckingham Palace in our specially decorated post box to mark the occasion.

The team at Heffle Court were joined by family and friends for a Jubilee lunch in the garden with the home decorated for the occasion with Union Jack flags and patriotic bunting, as well red, white and blue planting – which was generously donated by a member of our team.

Earlier this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. This marked her 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

We were joined by Heathfield Silver Band at our lunch and were thoroughly entertained by their wonderful music, as well enjoying some fun with the Royal photo booth, by having our pictures taken with the main lady herself!

In addition to the lunch, over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend, our residents also enjoyed a tea dance with singing, dancing and special Jubilee treats and of course a viewing of the ‘Trooping of the Colour’.

To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, events have been taking place across the country over the four-day bank holiday weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed being part of those celebrations at Heffle Court.
