Recently, Huntercombe Hall Care Home in Henley-on-Thames were thrilled to welcome the River Jukes band to perform Christmas songs and other well-known classics. The River Jukes band, made up of older adults who share a love of music, played on string instruments such as ukuleles, guitars, and cellos.
With the pretty backdrop of the garden gleaming in the sun, the band set up stage in the conservatory and put on a fantastic show for residents. Everyone had a wonderful time singing along to familiar tunes, with many getting up to dance.
The event was part of the home’s planned activities designed to enrich residents’ afternoons, and wouldn’t have been possible without the wonderful Delfina, the home’s Wellbeing Coordinator, who is devoted to creating fun and memorable experiences for the Huntercombe Hall community. Resident Jill commented, “I had a lovely time listening to the music. I hope they come back soon!”
