Magna Care Centre in Wimbourne recently hosted a fundraiser to promote awareness and raise funds for MYTIME, a fantastic charity dedicated to helping young carers who care for and support their loved ones.
The vast majority of young carers aged between 11 to 16 have to juggle a huge amount of responsibility with very little support. MYTIME recognise and celebrate these incredible young people and support them with a range of programs addressing their needs, such as education and employment.
We were honoured to support the lovely Ash who swam an incredible 24 miles in 24 hours to raise funds for the charity. Ash’s mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2015 and unfortunately her operation came with some difficulties, leaving her unable to look after herself. At a young age, Ash became his mum’s carer and, despite the heavy responsibility and challenge to his mental health, he was his Mum’s rock, helping her to become the brilliant lady she is today.
Ash teamed up with Magna’s very own Raffle Roy who did what he does best, put on a fantastic raffle fundraiser! It was a massive success and he helped to contribute to this worthwhile cause as Ash raised a whopping £2500 in just 2 weeks!
We cannot thank Ash enough for taking on the challenge and aiding MYTIME in helping the brave and selfless children who do so much to support their loved ones but often lack support themselves.
