Our home manager, team member and a couple of our residents from Magna Care Centre in Wimbourne enjoyed a sunny afternoon visit to the local Canford Heath Infant School this week after working together to raise money for a worthwhile cause.
We both came together to raise money for the Rainbow Trust, which is a charity that supports families that have a seriously ill child, providing both practical and emotional support.
Our resident Roy (Raffle Roy) has been raising money by holding a raffle at our home, after sourcing all the raffle prizes himself and dedicating his days for three weeks to asking residents and any visitors to our home to buy a raffle ticket. He raised crucial funds to support the restoration of the Canford Magna Parish Church.
He also took the opportunity to raise money to support Rainbow Trust by working with the school, so it was wonderful for Roy and the local school children to come together and share the amount they had raised. Together we have raised just over £200 which will help to make a difference.
It was a wonderful afternoon to make new connections in the local community as these relationships are so important to everyone at Magna.
