Celebrating a decade at Mill House

Maciej jas celebrating 10 years service at Mill House

The residents and team at Mill House Care Home in Chipping Campden came together to celebrate a special day with their Site Maintenance Officer (SMO) Maciej Jas who celebrated his 10 year anniversary at the home, being presented with a certificate and gift from Regional Director Scott Lindfield to mark the special milestone.

Maciej joined the home back in October 2014 and since being at the home has had various roles including in housekeeping, as a driver and Chef, to now being the SMO at the home. When asked what he enjoys most about working at the home, he commented “I really enjoy the variety that my work offers. Moreover, I take great satisfaction in making residents feel valued and comfortable. Seeing their smiles and receiving positive feedback motivates me to perform at my best. The collaborative spirit of working within a team to achieve common goals is also something I truly enjoy. It’s rewarding to contribute to creating memorable experiences for our residents, and that sense of accomplishment keeps me passionate about my work.”

Having been at the home for a decade he has many memorable moments, but the one that stands out was when a resident took the time to personally thank him for bringing  a bit of extra cheer into their day! The resident went on to share how a simple conversation they’d had lifted their spirits during a particularly tough time. Maciej shared that moments like these act as a reminder of why he loves his job so much, its not just about the tasks we have to do but the connections we build and the positive impact we can have on each other’s lives.

Maciej is committed to continuous  learning and professional development to achieve excellence in property services at the home, for the residents they care for  and his colleagues. Maciej  commented  “As a team we care from the heart every day and  I  envision this as the small gestures that can have a significant impact – a warm smile, a comforting word, or simply taking the time to engage in meaningful conversations. It’s about building trust and ensuring that residents feel valued and respected in our environment. This kind of care fosters a sense of belonging and helps create positive, lasting memories. Ultimately, it’s about making sure that everyone feels loved and supported in our community.”

Congratulations Maciej on your 10 year anniversary and here is to many more years at Mill House.
