Mill House colleagues shortlisted for five awards at prestigious event

The team and residents at Mill House Care Home in Chipping Campden have been celebrating after being shortlisted as finalists in five categories at the Stars of Social Care Awards 2023.

Held on Saturday 17th June at the London Marriott Hotel and hosted by ITV’s This Morning’s Josie Gibson, the event will shine a light on the stars of social care, paying tribute to the workforce, who through dedication and a commitment to care, go above and beyond to support those who are most vulnerable.

Mill House are no strangers to success with awards, currently holding the title for being the most nominated and award winning care home in England at the Great British Care Awards.

Home manager Gary Kent praised his team saying “I am always amazed and proud at how the team work with their hearts and use their knowledge and skills to enhance and ensure that the care, needs, and lives of our residents are not only met but improved and excelled.”

The finalists include:

Luke Webb – The Care Home Nutrition Award:
Luke is the youngest head chef in our company. He demonstrates immense passion and vision, ensuring that nutrition and hydration requirements are met through well-balanced and tasty meals. Luke mentors his team to meet everyone’s individual nutritional needs, setting an inspiring example for other care homes.

Lorraine Lumsden – The Exceptional Care Home Nurse Award:
With an impressive 40 years of experience, Lorraine’s extensive knowledge and expertise enable her to deliver outstanding care. Lorraine’s compassionate approach and commitment to mentoring others have a positive impact on our residents and the entire care team.

Paul Dixon – The Joy Maker Award:
Paul understands that true joy can be found in small moments of kindness and personalised care. Paul’s genuine dedication to providing care from the heart, knowing each resident as an individual and providing support on even the toughest days reflects the ethos of Aria Care.

Robyn Underwood – The Awesome Ancillary Worker Award

Robyn goes above and beyond in her job role as Office Manager and puts the residents and her colleagues at the centre of everything she does.

In addition, the entire team has been shortlisted for the Dementia Specialist Award. This prestigious accolade will be presented to a team or individual who has demonstrated exceptional skills, awareness, and leadership in delivering care services for individuals living with dementia.
