Easter Joy and New Beginnings at Riverside Place
At Riverside Place, part of the Aria Care family, Easter is always a cherished time of year – and this spring, the celebrations were as meaningful and magical as ever. The home was delighted to open its doors to residents’ families, local schoolchildren, and members of the wider community, bringing everyone together in the true spirit of togetherness and joy.
This year’s Easter festivities were made even more special by a truly heartwarming highlight: the arrival of six fluffy, adorable Easter chicks. Residents, staff, and young visitors alike were spellbound as they gathered to witness the miracle of life unfold – watching in awe as the tiny eggs hatched and the chicks took their very first steps.
Children from a nearby primary school were invited to take part in the celebrations, and they brought boundless energy and enthusiasm with them. As well as enjoying classic Easter-themed activities and competitions, they were introduced to the basics of animal care and even had the chance to name the chicks themselves – a gesture that helped foster meaningful intergenerational connections and a sense of shared ownership in the joy these little birds brought.
The presence of the chicks had a profoundly uplifting effect on the whole home, sparking conversations, smiles, and moments of reflection across all generations. Inspired by the experience, the team at Riverside Place is now exploring the exciting possibility of creating a dedicated hatch area within the home’s spacious garden, where the female chicks could remain with the community on a more permanent basis.
