Bringing People Together at Riverside Place: A Warm Welcome at Our Friendship Café
Riverside Place recently opened its doors to the local community with an inclusive Friendship Café event – an afternoon filled with conversation, laughter, and a chance for visitors to experience life inside a vibrant care home setting.
This welcoming community event was designed to bring together residents, staff, and members of the public in a relaxed and friendly environment. With the aim of promoting social inclusion and showcasing the engaging lifestyle offered at Riverside Place, the Friendship Café proved to be a great success.
The highlight of the afternoon was a lively quiz, organised by the dedicated wellbeing team. Residents and guests alike got involved, enjoying rounds of entertaining questions, including the much-loved “true or false” section. Resident Barbara commented, “I just love a true or false quiz – so much fun!”
No café is complete without refreshments, and the team at Riverside Place made sure there was something for everyone. Guests were treated to a selection of teas, coffees, soft drinks, as well as a delicious assortment of cakes, cookies, and a fresh fruit platter – all served with warm smiles and friendly conversation.
To ensure the event ran smoothly, the wellbeing team sourced all quiz materials and took care of the finer details, creating a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone who attended.
Events like the Friendship Café play a key role in enriching the lives of residents while strengthening bonds with the wider community. These gatherings offer a chance for people to see first-hand the caring and sociable environment at Riverside Place Care Home.
By hosting regular care home community events, Riverside Place continues to foster a sense of belonging, purpose, and joy for its residents and neighbours alike.
