The team at Scoonie House Care Home in Leven recently went the extra mile to organise a week packed with memorable outings for residents, with trips to local eateries, scenic walks, and even a long-awaited childhood wish fulfilled.

Ladies’ day out
To celebrate the lovely ladies of Scoonie House, the wellbeing team organised a visit to Agenda, a popular restaurant in Leven. Everyone enjoyed getting dressed up for the occasion and tucking into some delicious food, rounded off with some truly tempting desserts. Resident Christina was especially delighted with a particularly enormous Knickerbocker Glory!
Men’s day out
The team also planned a day out for the gents, with Sheryl and Leanne from the wellbeing team accompanying residents Bob and David to Base restaurant. It was a bright and sunny day, perfect for a walk around the town afterwards, and the four topped off their outing with a stop for ice cream in the sunshine.

Making wishes come true
One particularly meaningful moment from the week came when resident Christina shared her lifelong wish to meet and pet a horse – something she hadn’t done since childhood. The team reached out to East Fife and Scooniehill Riding for the Disabled SCIO, a local charity that offers therapeutic horse riding experiences for people with disabilities and additional support needs.
Christina was introduced to a beautiful horse named Kizzy, and the experience brought back a flood of cherished memories. “My heart is melting with joy!” she said afterwards, clearly moved by the moment.
