The team at Scoonie House care home in Leven warmly welcomed the children of Buckhaven Nursery to celebrate World Book Day with residents. This special day offers a wonderful opportunity to bring together book lovers of all ages, connecting through their shared love of literature.
The children, accompanied by their teacher Carla, all got in the spirit by dressing as their favorite fictional characters, from Disney princesses to Marvel superheroes. They spent time chatting with residents about their favorite books, reading to one another, and even singing songs together. Sheryl and Leeann from the Wellbeing Team also provided arts and crafts materials, encouraging everyone to get creative.
The residents were absolutely delighted to see the children, with resident, Alison, commenting, “This just melts my heart!”
World Book Day was a wonderful opportunity to bring two generations together and celebrate the bookworm in all of us. In a world increasingly dominated by screens, it’s more important than ever to encourage children to enjoy the magic of reading. A huge thank you to Buckhaven Nursery for joining the residents and helping make the day truly special!
