We’re delighted to share the success of our very first Sports Day at Southborough Nursing Home! This exciting event brought together residents, staff, families, and friends for a day full of fun, laughter, and heartfelt community spirit—all in support of the incredible work done by Macmillan Cancer Support.
The day featured a variety of light-hearted games and activities that were enjoyed by all. From the energetic Wheelchair Basketball to the nostalgic Sack Race, there was something for everyone to take part in. The sound of laughter and cheers echoed throughout the grounds, creating an atmosphere of pure joy and togetherness.
To keep everyone fuelled for the action, our talented Chef Leon and the kitchen team prepared a delectable spread of food that was enjoyed by all. Their effort and dedication made sure everyone had the energy to participate and enjoy the festivities to the fullest.
A particularly special moment was when our Manager, Kamal, awarded medals to the day’s winners. Residents and staff alike wore their medals with pride, celebrating their achievements and the collective spirit of the event. It was heartwarming to see such enthusiastic participation and camaraderie from everyone involved.
This Sports Day wasn’t just about fun and games; it was also an opportunity to give back. Residents Dave and Jenny expressed their heartfelt thanks to Macmillan Cancer Support for the care and guidance they’ve provided to their family, reminding us all of the vital work this organisation does.
We’re so proud of the support and engagement from our Southborough community, and we’re already looking forward to making this event an annual tradition. Thank you to everyone who joined us, contributed, and helped make the day such a resounding success!
