World Book Day Arrives at Southborough Nursing Home

A Magical World Book Day Celebration!

A truly wonderful day was enjoyed recently, celebrating World Book Day at Southborough Nursing Home! The home was filled with laughter, imagination, and plenty of heartwarming moments, thanks to a very special visit from the delightful children of Sutherland Day Nursery.

The residents, affectionately called “GranFriends”, were overjoyed to welcome the little ones, who brought boundless energy and innocent joy into our home. The room was alive with chatter, smiles, and the beautiful connection between generations.

A huge thank you to Zoe from Debutots Kingston for organising such a fantastic experience! With her engaging storytelling, a flurry of bubbles, and an exciting parachute game, she made sure everyone—young and old—was completely captivated and having fun.

Adding even more magic to the day, the Principal of Sutherland Day Nursery made a grand entrance as Mary Poppins, inspiring the children, who all looked fantastic in their costumes. From tiny wizards to adventurous storybook characters, the effort put into their outfits made the day even more special!

Residents felt incredibly lucky to have shared this joyful celebration with such wonderful young visitors. Thank you to Sutherland Day Nursery and Zoe for making World Book Day an unforgettable experience. We can’t wait for the next visit!
