Southlands Place Care Home in Bexhill-on-Sea celebrated Mother’s Day with a delightful ladies’ lunch and fun activities.
Joined by friends and family, the day began with a delicious lunch, offering a choice of seabass in herb butter or chicken breast wrapped in bacon with a creamy mushroom sauce, followed by either fruit salad or sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
After lunch, they played a game of bingo and wrote pearls of wisdom to share with others on a display board. Many of the ladies shared the importance of spending time outdoors for both the body and soul, while another popular piece of wisdom was the value of smiling and laughing with friends.
Wellbeing Coordinator Nikki said, “As Mother’s Day can be a difficult day for many of our residents, we focused more on hosting a ladies’ lunch to celebrate our lovely ladies. Thank you to the lovely Lorraine for making all our gorgeous ladies flowers to wear.”
Resident Josephine said, “I had a lovely afternoon with everyone.”
Jenny, a daughter of a resident, said, “We all had a brilliant time, and the food was delicious.”
