Last month, the team and residents at Southlands Place Care Home in Bexhill-on-Sea celebrated wonderful Joan’s 99th birthday.
Born in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex on 21st February 1926, Joan (also known as “Smiler”) has lived in Bexhill her entire life and loves sharing stories with everyone.
Joan has a passion for dancing and often reminisces about performing on stage. She speaks fondly of her happy marriage to her beloved husband, as well as their many holidays.
She is very proud of her son and daughter and loves talking about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joan loves it when her family joins her for events at the home such as craft afternoons and themed days.
To celebrate Joan’s incredible milestone, the team decorated the private dining room for her to celebrate with her family. The talented kitchen team made Joan a special birthday cake and everyone gathered to sing a big ‘Happy Birthday’.
