Last week, the team and residents at Southlands Place Care Home in Bexhill-on-Sea focused their ‘trip around the world’ on China, in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations.
Organised by wellbeing coordinators Alex and Nikki, the residents take part in a monthly ‘trip around the world’ themed day where they explore a different country each time.
With the home decorated for the special event, the residents learned all about China and took part in themed activities such as a quiz, games, and enjoyed traditional dishes.
A lovely afternoon enjoyed by all, each resident received a personalised poster featuring their Chinese zodiac sign, a description of its meaning, and their name written in Chinese. They also received a beautiful peacock fan as a souvenir from their travels.
Resident Keith said, “Thank you to the team for all the effort they put in.”
Wellbeing Coordinator Nikki said, “The residents always enjoy the themed days, and their relatives were happy to get involved as always.”
