It was a week of double celebrations at Strathview Care Home in Fife, as two of their beloved residents reached a remarkable milestone – both turning 90 years old within days of each other.
Residents and team members kicked off the celebrations with Hazel’s birthday party, tucking in to tasty cupcakes provided by her family. Hazel’s daughter also gifted her a bright pink birthday sash, which she proudly wore as everyone sang “Happy Birthday.” Hazel, who grew up on a farm and worked as a typist, thoroughly enjoyed the visit from her family including her adorable grand dog.
Later in the week, it was time to celebrate Davina’s special day. Her family gathered for a birthday bash in the community lounge, where they provided delicious food and treats for everyone to enjoy. Surrounded by her sister, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Davina’s celebration was a wonderful family gathering. Like Hazel, Davina’s roots run deep in the countryside. Working on a farm from the age of 14, where she drove tractors and helped with the fields, her hardworking spirit that has been a huge part of her life.
These celebrations are a great reminder of the incredible lives residents have led. The Strathview team are so happy to be a part of these special moments and all look forward to celebrating many more milestones with their wonderful community!
