Despite the stormy weather, Strathview Care Home in Fife marked Burns Night in style, with a celebration filled with traditional food, lively music, and plenty of cheer.

Residents and their families gathered to enjoy a hearty Burns Night feast, featuring classic Haggis, Neeps, and Tatties, prepared and served by the hospitality team with help from local visitors, who also worked their magic decorating the dining room and creating a festive atmosphere.

The festivities kicked off with the sound of bagpipes, as local piper, Angela, performed the traditional “Address to a Haggis,” a key part of the Burns Night tradition. Residents also had the chance to learn more about Scotland’s beloved poet, Robert Burns, thanks to educational posters that shared fascinating facts about his life and work.

Despite the challenges posed by the storm and falling snow, the team, residents, and families all came together to make the day a truly memorable one. One family member commented, “I was lucky enough to visit on Saturday and share in the Burns lunch complete with pipes, music and quite a spread. It was great and the residents clearly loved it. Well done!”

Angela was especially appreciated for bringing the festive spirit so the team at Strathview thanked her with a bottle of Prosecco.

Strathview’s Burns Night celebration not only honored Scottish heritage but also highlighted the resilience and community spirit that is at the heart of the care home. It was a fitting tribute to the spirit of Robert Burns, even amidst the wintery challenges.
